ARES Airsoft Company Released AMP DSR-1
A new company in Hong Kong is just releasing their first gun, a German AMP DRS-1. The price tag will be around $1000 for this gas sniper rifle. It supposed to be release in mid-August, but we know how that all goes. Every package includes a really nice M3 style 3.5 5-10 x 50mm scope, a scope mount, and 2 magazines! Better save some of that drool, because they will also be realeasing (not in August though)some other high caliber weapons like PGM mini hecate (.338) and CheyTac Intervention M200 (.408) Any who, here's some pictures of the German AMP DRS-1 (P.S. Float mouse over pictures to get commentary:

Do's and Dont's of a Ghillie Suit

Things NOT to do:
º DO NOT PUT IT ON THE FRONT OF YOUR SUIT. It's pointless.
º DO NOT BUY ALL OLIVE DRAB JUTE/MOSS. You won't know the true color till you get it. I'd just dye it/paint it. Painting works great. I would buy a bundle of OD moss hair jute.
º DO NOT PAINT IT TOO DARK. This is a BIG problem with a lot of the ghille suits I've seen. Make sure to, once again, take your time and make sure it matches your environment.
Things TO do:
º Take your time. You want the best ghille suit you can get, take your time and don't rush. All good things come with time.
º USE NETTING! Use netting to attach your jute, with some shoegoo. This seems to work best and saves a ton of time.
º Make Ventilation. Ghille suits get hot, be sure to use some sort of ventilation system. The cooler you stay, the more comfortable you will be.

DMR vs. Sniper Rifle?

Some people may think they are a like but their completely different. He's some main differences:
-DMR is usually semi-auto or (rarely) auto, as sniper rifle is bolt action or (rarely) semi.
-DMR is electric. Sniper rifle is spring (except PSG-1).
-DM operates with this squad there in the firefights, as a sniper operates by himself, sometimes with a spotter, giving the squad intelligence.
-DM CAN be less patient then a sniper and not suffer as much.
There are some similarities though:
-DM's and sniper's big advantage is range.
-A completely upgraded DMR or sniper rifle will cost around 1k.
-Both can operate in a recon squad.
-Both have some stealth ability of some sort.
-Both have high FPS set ups.
Pretty close, eh? So how will you choose between the two? Here are some things to help decide:
1. Are you a die-hard AEG fan? Get a DMR.
2. Are you a die-hard spring fan? Get a sniper rifle.
3. Are you really patient? Get a sniper rifle
4. Are you not that patient? Get a DMR.
5. Better operating with a squad? Get a DMR.
6. Better alone or with a partner? Get a sniper rifle.
Obviously basic questions, but these really help. For those who choose a sniper rifle, we'll have an article this week on how to start a sniper role for under $500. :D
